After having been one of the founding members of the ECDM, then its Secretary General, I now have the pleasure of taking over the Presidency of the ECDM.

Dr Jan-Cedric Hansen has been involved in the field of Disaster Medicine for more than 40 years. He is specialized in strategic aspects related to the steering of crisis/DM situations with a special focus on decision making processes under stressful and everchanging environments. He regularly publishes and teaches in European, North American and African Universities on those matters as well as advocating disaster medicine in international conferences as well as media. Among other duties he is a Registered Cindynician Expert-Auditor for the CBRN Risk Mitigation CoE Initiative of the European Commission under EX2016D276660,

I'm Verónica Aquilino, a medical doctor with a special interest in Disaster Medicine field and innovative projects! It is for me an honour to join the new presidium as general secretary, and together with all the team, I aim to contribute to the strategic goals of the ECDM by creating and developing innovative ways of teaching disaster medicine, creating an amazing network and reaching out to the world! Welcome to the future! 

Christopher Boon (Belgium, born 1964) first volunteered as a Red Cross emergency medical technician, then later as Belgian Army ambulance crew. Active in the field of occupational health and safety for many years, he now works as a information officer at the Belgian National Fire Protection Association.

Trained in disaster medicine in 2014 at the Free University of Brussels, he joined the ECDM since its foundation and assumed the role of treasurer.
